Tim Nielsen, 52, has spent most of his adult life working in the security integration space but it’s never gotten stale to him and he always wakes up wondering exactly what the day will bring for him once he gets to the job site.

Nielsen, the lead security technician for WH-Security, has been in the business for 32 years now, and he has seen just about everything in that time. Then again, every day brings with it new challenges and new ways for him to help customers solve their security-related challenges and see the value of hiring a professional security technician.

Let’s learn more about Tim Nielsen, lead security technician for WH-Security:

What do you love about being a security technician?

What I love about working in the security industry is the opportunity to travel and see large, beautiful homes, meet all kinds of people, and occasionally some famous individuals. Every day is different, and every installation presents a unique challenge.

I enjoy the process of installing a system from start to finish and feel gratified when a customer appreciates the reliability of a system I’ve repaired for them.

What’s one installation you’ve been involved with that’s particularly memorable or meaningful?

When I first started installing alarm systems, my sister asked me to install one for her. With her husband frequently away and two young children at home, she felt the need for added security. The day after the installation, she called to thank me, saying it was the first time in a long while that she had a peaceful night’s sleep. That moment made me realize that my work provides people with peace of mind.
