NBFAA Declares November ‘Alarm Awareness Month’

SILVER SPRING, MD.
Published: October 15, 2003

November has been deemed “Alarm Awareness Month” by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and will feature a collaborative effort between law enforcement officials and members of the electronic security industry on cutting down false alarms.

The NBFAA is encouraging alarm contractors to meet with state and regional law enforcement professionals and, if requested, providing a list of officials to contact. NBFAA is providing materials for these conferences, including information about developing an alarm ordinance and a public education brochure – the “NBFAA Alarm System Management Guide” – offering tips to consumers for the responsible use of alarm systems.
