NBFAA Elections Introduce New Executive Committee, Bylaw Change

SILVER SPRING, Md.

The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association’s (NBFAA)
May 14 election introduced new executive committee members
as well as a bylaw change. Effective July 1, Security

Editorial Advisory Board member
Grant Thayer of Winston Salem, N.C.’s Radar Security Alarm
takes seat as secretary. Tony Shaddix of Brink’s Home
Security in Irving, Texas, will begin his term as Vice
President. Smoky Mountain Systems’ Charles “Dom” D’Ascoli
of Franklin, N.C., and George Gunning from Monrovia,
Calif.’s USA Alarm Systems will begin their terms as Two
Year Vice President.

This marks Shaddix’s return as vice president after a two-
year absence. Gunning and Thayer were re-elected to posts
they served previously.

Scot Colby takes seat as president July 1, also when Cecil
Hogan becomes immediate past president, a seat formerly
held by Bart Didden.

The approved bylaw change allows the NBFAA budget to be
voted upon for approval either in the regular fall
conference board of directors meeting or via
teleconference.
