SILVER SPRING, Md.

The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) announces that four Executive Committee slots up for vote in the association’s 2000 election have been filled, and the officers began their terms on July 1. In a mail-in voting process, NBFAA members elected: Secretary—Cecil Hogan, president and owner of Security Consultants Inc. in Memphis, Tenn.; Vice President (one-year term)—Merlin Guilbeau, vice president of Argus Security in Lafayette, La.; Vice President (two-year term)—Chris Cage, vice president, general counsel and secretary of Brink’s Home Security in Irving, Texas; and Vice President (two-year term)—James Orvis, CEO of Security Solutions in Wilton, Conn.

Bart A. Didden, owner of USA Central Station Corp. in Port Chester, N.Y., also began his two-year term as NBFAA president on July 1 after being elected to the post in 1999.  “I know that it will be a pleasure to work with this group of experienced and talented individuals,” says Didden. “NBFAA’s Executive Committee continues to reflect the diversity in experience, size, geography and product focus of the NBFAA membership. I know … [we] will continue to provide our members with quality services and representation in a way that no other organization can.”
