The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) recently announced that the organization backs the federal legislation introduced by Senators Pat Roberts (R-KS) and Ben Nelson (D-NE) entitled “The Agricultural Business Security Tax Credit Act of 2005.” According to NBFAA, the legislation will provide tax credits when money is spent on security measures at agricultural facilities where pesticides and fertilizers are housed.
Eligible for credit will be agriculture retailers, distributors, manufacturers, formulators, aerial applicators and others. Under the current bill, eligible businesses will be able to partially offset a significant amount of the cost of implementation in the form of a tax credit equivalent to 30 percent of the aggregate, up to $100,000 per facility.
