The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association’s (NBFAA)
Government Relations team is urging its members and
chartered state associations to send comments and concerns
to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regarding the
recently passed energy bill that extends Daylight Savings
Time a month within the next two years.
The NBFAA says the bill, which was signed into law by
President Bush on Aug. 8, will have an adverse affect on
those in the alarm industry because it extends Daylight
Savings Time by four weeks beginning in 2007, which may
require time and date sensitive equipment to be
reprogrammed.
The DOE will soon be issuing regulations to implement the
provisions of the bill.
