NBFAA Welcomes Back Virginia Chapter
IRVING, Texas
The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) Board of Directors has unanimously voted to bring the Virginia Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (VBFAA) back into the association as a chartered chapter.
The VBFAA Board of Directors voted at the end of 2007 to rejoin the chapter alliance, and NBFAA made it official at its recent Leadership Summit in Dallas.
“With this move, our members will enhance their national networking, support and representation,” says VBFAA and Certified Training Academy President John Kochensparger. “And, equally important, we add Virginia’s support to strengthen the ‘collective voice’ of the industry as a whole.”
VBFAA Past President Emil Wengel and VBFAA Vice President Beth Cain were both in attendance at the Leadership Summit where they were welcomed back by the board of directors.
“The addition of VBFAA is another step toward strengthening our alliance of chartered chapters. It takes a collective might to represent and support our industry, in both Washington and in the public arena, and we welcome the vision, knowledge and fresh perspectives that the VBFAA leadership and members have to offer,” says George Gunning, president of NBFAA and CEO of USA Alarm Systems of Monrovia, Calif.
VBFAA dropped its chartered state association status and ended its relationship with the NBFAA in 2004 after disputing increased membership fees by the NBFAA, among other issues.
