JASPER, Texas — LRG, an independent manufacturer’s rep firm serving the electronic security industry, has signed a new partnership with Nest Labs Professional Channel.

“Nest has created a buzz in the smart devices market that the professional installer can benefit from,” Chris Lanier, president of LRG states in an announcement. “Being able to offer extended warranty and provide professional setup will be of value to their legacy and new customers. Brand recognition is huge also.”

The Nest portfolio features hardware, software and services for the smart home, including the Nest Thermostat E, Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Energy Services, Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, and the Nest Cam.

LRG, based here, will market the company’s wares to a large network of low-voltage distributors throughout the Central and Midwest regions. “As one of the leading representation firms in the U.S., Nest is excited to partner with LRG to bring the Thoughtful Home to the electronic security industry,” says Mark Schmidt, head of emerging markets for Nest. “We’re looking forward to working with the LRG team to help dealers expand their smart home business, generate more opportunities with consumers, and position themselves as industry leaders in the rapidly changing security landscape.”

In September 2017, the Nest Secure alarm system was unveiled along with an exclusive partnership with MONI to handle monitored response. In addition, the Nest Hello video doorbell is set for an early 2018 release. Among the company’s other innovations is increasing voice command capabilities through Google Assistant integrations and expanding the overall product ecosystem through its Works with Nest program.

Founded in 2010 by former Apple engineers Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers, Nest products today are sold in 18 countries and installed worldwide. Now in its third generation, according to the company the Nest Learning Thermostat has helped save approximately 14 billion kWh of energy to date, which is enough electricity to power New York State for 100 days.
