On April 1, 10-digit dialing goes into effect in Broward County, Fla. Due to an area code overlay, all local calls will require 10 digits to be dialed. The new area code being overlayed in Broward is 754. As a result of 754 being added to the established 954, all security system digital dialers used in Broward County will need to be reprogrammed to include the central station’s area code.
