New Executive at Ingersoll-Rand Has Control of Security

HAMILTON, Bermuda

Ingersoll-Rand Co. Ltd. (IR) has a new chief for its
Security and Safety division. Michael W. Lamarch has left
Johnson Controls Inc. after 17 years to become the new
president of IR’s Security and Safety sector. The IR board
has also tapped Lamarch as IR’s senior vice president.

The position had remained vacant since Randy Smith was promoted to become president of the company’s Climate Control sector. At Johnson Controls, Lamach served as vice president and managing director for the European, Asian, South African and South American businesses of the company’s Automotive Group. Before that, he was vice president and general manager of the company’s Controls Group.

“Mike has an established record of growing industrial businesses, as well as extensive experience in Europe and Asia, geographic areas that are of particular importance to the Security and Safety sector,” says IR Chairman, President and CEO Herbert Henkel. “I am confident that Mike’s leadership will enable this business to extend its growth in North America and achieve its full potential in global markets.”
