New Fike Facility to Make Fire Protection Products

Published: February 17, 2011

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — As the need for fire suppression and protection products grows, fire/life-safety product supplier Fike Corp. has opened a new facility to make clean agent fire protection cylinders.

The facility will be based at the company’s Blue Springs, Mo., headquarters. It will produce Fike’s ECARO-25 clean agent system and the ProInert inert gas system. The complex is also expected to help employees maintain a more balanced workflow and reduce material handling.

“As businesses all across the country scramble to reduce costs, Fike chose to invest in its infrastructure,” says Brent Leonard, production manager for commercial products.

The primary focus was to maintain control of product quality, he explains. Lead times and costs, keeping jobs local, and stimulating the economy were also important.
