New Player Specializes in Fiber Optic Video, Data Transmission

DANBURY, Conn.

Communication Networks (ComNet™), a new company specializing in fiber optic video and data transmission, will provide connectivity and communications network solutions to the security, intelligent transportation and factory automation/industrial control markets.

ComNet founder George Lichtblau is a recognized fiber optics professional, who also launched International Fiber Systems (IFS) in 1986. GE acquired the company in 2003.

ComNet’s product line will consist of fiber optic video, data and audio transmission products as well as a broad Ethernet product line for use in CCTV, access control, traffic signalization, incident detection and WMS/CMS control.

“One of the key reasons for the success of IFS was our decision to be a true resource for the customers who chose to partner with us,” says Lichtblau. “That was a successful philosophy and one that we plan to improve on at ComNet.”
