Businesses looking to reexamine their security infrastructure as the threat of terrorism at home continues can do so through a new Web site launched by the Security Industry Association (SIA).

Called BusinessSecurityTips.com , the goal of the site is to become a reliable resource of information sharing for the private sector by featuring extensive online resources and a tour of a simulated business facility. “This is an important resource for businesses large and small to use when examining ways to improve their security,” said Richard Chace, SIA executive director. “The continuing threat of terrorism at home has made it essential for companies to have a reliable security infrastructure to protect employees and customers.”

The new Web site helps ensure businesses understand what technologies are available and how they should be applied. All this is provided without specific product endorsements. The online resources also include a guide to recent tax code changes that provide significant deductions for businesses improving their security infrastructure.

“This Web site is an important learning tool to help change the way businesses look at security. Companies can no longer view security as a burdensome expense rather it must become an integral part of their business plan,” Chase said.
