SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced the agenda and keynote speaker for 2025 Perimeter PREVENT, the perimeter security symposium scheduled for June 17-18 in Washington, D.C.
Perimeter PREVENT will gather policymakers, federal agency personnel, architects, engineers and security solution providers to “engage on the critical issues related to perimeter defense for physical environments, including government and commercial facilities, critical infrastructure and events,” the announcement says.
“At Perimeter PREVENT 2025, attendees will gain essential insights on protective design strategies, explore security challenges and innovations in protecting urban retail spaces against threats, examine critical infrastructure security measures for data centers, learn strategies for mitigating security risks during period of civil unrest and more,” says SIA CEO Don Erickson in the association announcement.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for our industry and government to gather, strategize, discuss and ideate on the most pressing perimeter security topics,” he says.
Why You Should Attend Perimeter PREVENT 2025
Perimeter PREVENT 2025 – presented by SIA with guidance from the SIA Perimeter Security Subcommittee – will kick off on Tuesday, June 17, with a welcome reception featuring top-tier networking, refreshments and informal conversation with speakers and attendees, including public- and private-sector end users, buyers, specifiers and reseller partners.
On Wednesday, June 18, attendees will enjoy an all-day symposium featuring keynote remarks from Cathy Lanier, chief security officer of the National Football League (NFL) and former Washington, D.C., police chief, along with additional educational presentations from top experts, networking opportunities and an open forum to present questions and ideas.
“This year’s event – in addition to bringing together leaders in barriers, bollards and fencing, along with manufacturers, integrators and solutions providers – will offer perspectives from more voices than ever before, including perimeter component manufacturers and fabricators, about how they can contribute to finding solutions for better perimeters,” says Christa Decker, co-chairperson of SIA’s Perimeter Security Subcommittee and vice president of the Protective Design Group at Whitman, Requardt & Associates.
“We’re seeing a lot of technology being integrated into perimeter security solutions and new potential threats,” says Amy Dunton, co-chairperson of SIA’s Perimeter Security Subcommittee and business development specialist at Ameristar Perimeter Security, in the association announcement.
“We look forward to examining how we can integrate the different layers of perimeter security into a holistic approach as we secure our facilities and data and protect our customers and ourselves,” she says.
