One security guard’s actions outside of Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., might have saved a life. At the very least, he prevented further injury.
Following the San Francisco 49ers’ season-opening win at home against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday, a fight broke out between fans as 49ers fans can be seen on video brutally attacking a Vikings fan lying on the ground. The attackers can be seen repeatedly punching and kicking the victim. A horrific sight might have turned out even worse if not for the efforts of a security guard that intervened to break up the altercation as the victim helplessly tried crawling away from the attack.
TMZ is reporting that the security guard, described by the security company as a star employee, will be honored for his actions.
This is not the first time a fight has broken between fans at NFL games. In fact, 49ers fans have also been involved in fights against fans of the rival Oakland Raiders.
