LAS VEGAS
Published: June 2, 2010

Fire/life-safety professionals from across the nation will assemble at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas for the NFPA Conference & Expo, June 7-10. The event will feature a special presentation by U.S. Fire Administrator Kelvin Cochran who will discuss the agency’s national initiatives.

This year’s conference will include more than 130 education sessions, as well as pre-conference one-, two- and three-day seminars. Concurrent conference tracks will focus on building and life safety, codes and standards, detection and suppression, electrical safety, emergency preparedness, fire and emergency services, fire protection engineering and more.

New for this year’s event, 30 conference sessions can be remotely viewed by attendees and non-attendees alike by way of “Virtual Conference”. The select sessions – streamed on-demand and audio-synced to PowerPoint – will be posted 24 to 48 hours after each presentation and will be available for 90 days following the conference. The first sessions will be available for viewing on June 8.

The NFPA is also providing a free mobile application, which provides a list of education sessions, speaker and exhibitor information, the NFPA Twitter feed and more.
