The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) elected James Shannon president and CEO of the association effective June 1. He succeeds George Miller, who will retire after being with the association for 10 years. Shannon has served as NFPA senior vice president and general counsel since 1991.
International Electronics Inc. (IEI) appointed Steven Tannenbaum as a member of its board of directors. Since 1993, he has been president of Greenwood Investments Inc. Tannenbaum and his affiliates own approximately 15 percent of IEI’s common stock.
Detection Systems appoints Shamus Hurley vice president of sales for North America. He was formerly an executive for Honeywell Int’l’s Fire and Security business unit.
Michael Worden has joined Videolarm as national sales manager. Worden’s past experience includes serving as an ADI center manager. In other company news, Charles Hall has been appointed director of engineering.
