QUINCY, Mass.—The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), has announced at Fire Rescue International (FRI) in Dallas that it is licensing CRAIG 1300, its digital community risk assessment (CRA) framework, to the Emergency Services Consulting International (ESCI), the consulting arm of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC).
“This collaboration with ESCI presents an ideal opportunity to elevate the ever-growing CRR space,” says Karen Berard-Reed, senior strategist and CRR lead at NFPA. “Ultimately, the expansion of the CRAIG 1300 product line gives more fire departments and safety officials access to the data and information they need to maximize their Community Risk Reduction (CRR) efforts. We’re excited to deliver these enhanced resources to communities throughout North America.”
CRAIG 1300 Supports Local Community Safety Measures
As a GIS-based tool, The ESCI Community Risk Hub captures data at a highly specific level—down to individual addresses. This helps users create accurate community profiles, which in turn allows them to accurately and efficiently assess risks, plan risk reduction activities, track risk reduction resources, and monitor progress towards goals.
In addition as part of the CRAIG 1300 system, the ESCI Hub is a user- and mobile-friendly option that lends efficiency to fire departments and safety officials who might otherwise experience a time-consuming learning curve, as other tools in the marketplace require a more intensive working knowledge of GIS and analytics.
“When customers purchase the ESCI Hub, they not only get an innovative, high-functioning collection of applications, they also get the resources and training to secure their success,” adds Joe Powers, managing director at ESCI. “This feature is key for customers who are eager to employ GIS-focused data solutions to drive CRR but may need some deployment support.”
