The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has launched a smartphone application, which highlights the changes between the 2008 edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the 2011 edition.
The new NEC Changes app is intended to provide practitioners a convenient means of verifying a code change while working in the field, according to the NFPA. More than 500 updates and modifications are provided free of charge.
“As online technologies have increasingly become the primary tool for accessing information and resources, NFPA has steadily worked to proactively meet the industry’s changing needs and requirements,” says Andy Wandell, NFPA’s division director of marketing and sales. “The NEC Changes app serves as the next step in offering smartphone services to users, making 2011 NEC updates easier than ever to identify and review.”
