NFPA Simplifies Meeting Process, Site Selection

QUINCY, Mass.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will consolidate its Fall Education Conference with its annual meeting beginning in 2005. The impetus for the change is the difficulty for many members to attend two conferences, NFPA officials said.

Other changes on the horizon include moving the annual meeting from May to June, beginning next year. The association hopes the move will provide more flexibility in site selection, as fewer conferences are held in the summer months, NFPA said.

NFPA’s 2004 annual meeting – the World Safety Conference and Exposition (WSCE) – is scheduled for May 23 through 26 in Salt Lake City. The Fall Education Conference will be held in Miami Beach, Fla., Nov. 13-17.
