NFPA World Safety Conference & Expo Begins Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY

The 2004 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) World
Safety Conference & Exposition will open its doors to fire
and life-safety professionals at the Salt Palace Convention
Center in Salt Lake City May 23-26. More than 100
educational sessions led by 65 industry experts are
scheduled during the four days. The sessions are divided
into nine categories: life safety; codes and standards;
detection and suppression; firefighting perations/emergency
response; business continuity; leadership/professional
development; research and testing; safety and security; and
National Electrical Code Forums.

Early birds have their choice of 10 preconference seminars
taking place May 21-22.

The event features two keynote speakers: Former U.S.
Senator Bill Bradley will discuss at Sunday’s general
session how change affects the economy, politics and human
relationships. Tuesday’s general session features Tony
Snow, host of Fox News Channel’s “Weekend Live with Tony
Snow.”

NFPA codes and standards voting will take place during the
technical committee report gatherings scheduled for
Wednesday, May 26. These sessions are open to NFPA members
only.

During the three-day exposition, more than 250 companies
will meet with attendees and feature new products. Such
companies include Altronix Corp., Bosch Security Systems,
Fire-Lite Alarms, Notifier, and Tyco Fire and Building
Products.

The exhibit hall is open May 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; May
24 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and May 25 from 8 a.m. to
11 a.m.
