The 2006 World Safety Conference & Exposition, organized by
the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) of Quincy,
Mass., will be held from June 4-8 at the Orange County
Convention Center in Orlando. According to NFPA, more than
5,000 people will hear keynote speakers George Ockuly,
chairman, and James Shannon, president of NFPA. Following
the keynotes, industry experts will then be recognized and
awards given in a variety of areas, such as fire safety
education, research, development of codes and distinguished
service.
The Sunday meeting will also include stand-up comedian
Kevin Nealon who will provide his signature style of
entertainment. Nealon is the longest-running cast member of
Saturday Night Live and is remembered especially for his
notable characters including The Subliminal Man and his
stint as the Weekend Update Anchorman, including portrayals
of Sam Donaldson and Larry King.
The 2006 World Safety Conference & Exposition will
feature a cutting-edge educational conference, two days of
preconference seminars, and a three-day product exposition.
Hundreds of experts, including engineers, architects and
municipal officials will lead more than 130 educational
sessions. More than 250 exhibitors will show the latest in
products that will range from sprinkler systems and
services to fire alarms and control panels. This year NFPA
will also feature CCTV and mobile command vehicle
surveillance systems.
