NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y.—Nassau County recently passed an ordinance that requires a permit, or there will be no response. There is a grace period of six months, so if the alarm company calls in an alarm without a permit number, it will have 60 days to obtain the permit.
If the company calls in another alarm at the same location without a permit number, it will get a warning. The third time a call is placed, response will be denied and the dealer will be fined $20. Until the permit is issued, the company will be fined and response denied for any additional dispatch requests at that location. After six months, there will be no dispatches to any location without a permit number.
