WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — Most video surveillance cameras at Pierce College, a community college in the Los Angeles area, are non-functional, The Roundup News reports.
Cameras are installed across campus but the only ones that are operational are pointed towards a farm.

“The cameras we do have are not turned on,” said Deputy Al Guerrero of the Pierce College Sheriff’s station. “The ones that do work are the ones on the farm, to watch the cows.”
The lack of working video surveillance cameras raises questions about school safety considering the fatal shootings that occurred on Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.
Seven unspecified reports have been filed with the Pierce College Sheriff’s station this semester, with one investigation having been hampered by the camera situation, Guerrero said.
Pierce College also is experiencing poor lighting on areas of its campus which was responsible for at least one traffic incident, according to the report.
