NOTIFIER Serves Up Fire System for Wimbledon

LONDON
Published: June 21, 2004

There’s going to soon be a new player at Wimbledon, and it won’t have to worry about taking on the Williams sisters. A new intelligent fire system consisting of NOTIFIER equipment will soon be installed as part of an extensive renovation to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

The system will consist of 10 ID3000 control panels that provide 42 loops divided into 284 fire zones with some 3,000 addressable smoke and thermal detectors and modules.

The All England club awarded a contract with London-based NOTIFIER engineered system distributor Powerpoint Electronics to install the system that will also include additional installations for a new retractable roof over Centre Court.

The system will use fiber-optic cable and connect to five separate graphic stations on the grounds of Wimbledon and will interface with the facility’s paging system to provide quick response.
