NORTHFORD, Conn. — In an effort to help security professionals understand the design and planning concepts for life-safety and emergency communications systems (ECS), Notifier by Honeywell will offer free emergency management seminars. Electronic security contractors will earn a certificate worth four continuing professional development credits at the end of the half-day courses.
During the seminar, Consulting Engineer and NFPA Technical Committee Member Jack Poole, P.E., will demonstrate how to perform a thorough facility risk analysis and its impact on the design of an ECS. He will also explain the effects of UL 2572 Standard for Control and Communication Units for Mass Notifications Systems and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act on ECS requirements and design specifications.
Additionally, New York City Fire Department Commissioner Thomas Van Essen will discuss real-world fire alarm and ECS applications. Along with Notifier technical experts, Van Essen will also explain the latest legislation requirements for carbon monoxide (CO) detection and alerts.
