NTS, NBFAA, LBFAA Announce Networking Course

The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), National Training School (NTS) and the Louisiana Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (LBFAA) will host the “Security Networking Institute” on Sept. 23 and 24 in New Orleans. The course will discuss how Ethernet, Wi-Fi and the Internet can affect electronic security installers’ businesses, as well as teach salespeople and technicians about using UTP, fiber and wireless computer networks to transmit video images, access control and alarm information.

Students will learn about the impact of VoIP and how to install IP alarm transmitters at the course, which will cover residential and commercial systems, as well as connect, address and program network cameras, interfaces, routers and other devices.

The course will offer 1.6 NTS CEUs and costs $295 per person from NBFAA-member companies. For more information or to register, call (866) 636-1786 or visit the professional development section of NBFAA’s Web site, www.alarm.org.
