On2 Technologies and PowerLinx are joining forces to launch
new products designed for the surveillance, security and
video-on-demand markets. The releases will combine On2’s
VP6 codec and TrueCast software with PowerLinx’s patented
technology for sending audio and video over power lines,
twisted pair wires and coaxial cables.

The companies’ commercial surveillance and security
offerings will use On2’s VP6 codec to compress, store and
serve video from PowerLinx digital security cameras, and
allow the video footage to be sent to a PC for viewing and
storing, via power lines.

It will be developed for the OEM security market.

PLVS Plan System, a residential security solution, combines
a single base station with any combination of monochrome
SecureView cameras.
