The Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) has expanded its member base to 103 companies before reaching its one-year anniversary in November. The forum is designed to drive development of a global standard for the interface of network video products.
The group now boasts 12 full members, 13 contributing members and 78 user member companies. Most recently, Canon and IDIS have joined as full members. Companies such as Dallmeier, General Electric, Genetec, Hitachi, Industrial Technology Research Institute, NICE Systems, Optelecom-NKF and Sanyo are participating as contributing members.
During an annual meeting on Sept. 23 in Anaheim, Calif., the forum elected Siemens as a new member of the Steering Committee. Panasonic has been re-elected for both the Steering and the Technical Committee, and Cisco has been re-elected for the Technical Committee.
In the Technical Services and Communication Committee, open seats were filled by Anixter and Hikvision respectively. The new committee members will start their work in November in conjunction with ONVIF’s first anniversary.
