Security equipment maker Optex Europe has purchased Security Enclosures Ltd. (SEL) of Surrey, England, for an undisclosed sum. The company is a provider of outdoor detection equipment.
According to Peter Harries, managing director of Optex Europe Ltd., this purchase will enable the company to offer additional detection products as well as further advance into the CCTV market.
In the United States, SEL products will be marketed through Optex Inc. of Torrance, Calif. “Our goal is to expand our outdoor product line to satisfy the requirements of other outdoor-related applications, such as activating outdoor CCTV,” says Rob Blair, president of Optex Inc.
SEL is known for a range of products, including its Redwall range of medium- and long-range PIR detectors, the Redwatch detector and camera combination and Rednet active infrared beams.
