Out-of-state executives in the alarm monitoring industry
can sign up for a class to take place in the Dallas area to
certify or recertify them for monitoring alarms in the
state of Oregon. Electronic security firm Network
Multifamily Corp. is hosting the class, which is scheduled
for June 12 in Irving, Texas.
Network Multifamily has made arrangements to have an
instructor from the Oregon Department of Public Safety
Standards and Training (ODPSST) teach the class, which will
take place at the Harvey Hotel located near Dallas-Fort
Worth Int’l Airport.
Those who attend the class will meet the certification
requirements for the state of Oregon. Upon completion of
the course, participants will receive a PS-6 training
affidavit signed by the ODPSST certified alarm monitor
instructor.
As of July 31, 2003, all companies that monitor alarms in
Oregon must have their certification training taught by a
state-certified instructor. According to Oregon statutes,
all supervisory and executive managers must recertify every
two years through a state-sanctioned, four-hour refresher
class, provide a PS-21 certificate and pay a fee to
recertify.
