Reed Exhibitions, producer of the International Security
Conference (ISC) announces record attendance for the
recently completed ISC West at the Sands Expo & Convention
Center in Las Vegas. The event, which was held April 6-8,
drew 21,619 security industry professionals, an 11-percent
increase compared to 2004, while the number of exhibitors
was 825, also an 11-percent rise vs. the previous
convention.
“Once again, we are pleased with the success of the 2005
event,” commented Dean Russo, vice president for the ISC
portfolio of events, in the statement. “ISC West continues
to offer numerous advantages to the International security
community through business-building and networking
opportunities; by imparting thought-leadership on trends
and protocols affecting business, and unparalleled access
to the U.S. security marketplace. All of this would not be
possible without the assistance of our esteemed partners:
SIA, NBFAA and the CAA.”
Reed also reports that of the total number of security
professionals in attendance, the following industry sectors
represented increased participation: retail, up 115
percent; hotel/hospitality, up 95 percent; transportation,
up 42 percent; and government agency, up 28 percent.
“What was particularly satisfying about the security
professional numbers was the high concentration of business
owner or senior management titles,” said
Russo. “Approximately 50 percent of the attendance
comprised job titles consisting of Owner/Senior Management
and/or GM. I think many of the exhibiting manufacturers
were pleased to conduct business with such high-level
decision-makers.”
