The R-300 microwave perimeter protection detector by STR Int’l Inc. of Toronto is designed to continuously learn and adjust to changes in weather and terrain. According to STR, the R-300 eliminates false alarms and is about a third less in price when compared to comparable microwave protection products. The R-300, which weights about a pound, measures 6.3 X 4.5 X 1.8 inches and protects an area up to 1,000 feet can provide early warning of a perimeter breach.
STR says this device can detect someone crawling or walking at 1 to 30 feet per second. Verification of operability can be performed from a remote location, which eliminates the need to travel to the protected location to do a manual test. It also can withstand temperatures of -58° F to 149° F.
