Joseph Taylor, executive vice president and COO of Panasonic Corp. of North America, assumes the role of president of Panasonic System Solutions Co. (PSSA) following the resignation of J.M. Allain.

In 2007, Taylor was the first American ever to be appointed an executive officer in Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd., the parent company of Panasonic. Taylor was also president and COO of Panasonic Industrial Co., as well as vice president and member of the board of Panasonic Corp. of North America.

Allain, a former manager of global operations for Duos Technologies, succeeded Frank DeFina as president of PSSA in 2008. PSAA provides technology solutions and systems for diverse business applications such as security, medical and industrial imaging.

The company said Allain resigned his post to pursue other interests.
