Panasonic announced that J.M. Allain will succeed Frank DeFina as president of Panasonic System Solutions Co. (PSSA). The company said DeFina recently retired.
PSSA provides technology solutions and systems for diverse business applications such as security, medical and industrial imaging, point-of-sale workstations, drive-thru communications, large screen LED and other digital signage.
Allain most recently managed the operations of Duos Technologies. Allain has led deployments of integrated security systems in high-profile public and private institutions around the world. He has also established experience in a number of technology-driven industries including data communications and telecommunications.

Allain to the Panasonic team,” Yoshi Yamada, chairman and CEO of Panasonic Corp. of North America, said in the announcement. “With his background in global systems integration marketing and sales management for enterprises ranging from start-ups to multinational companies, he brings a strong portfolio of valuable experience to this position.”
DeFina was with Panasonic for more than 25 years and held numerous management positions, including president of Panasonic’s Broadcast & Television Systems Company; vice president, Panasonic Industrial/Medical Co.; national sales manager, Professional Video Division; and product marketing manager, CCD cameras.
