Pelco Holiday Toy Drive Results in 110,820 Donations

CLOVIS, Calif.

The toy market is up for the Pelco Inc.’s Toys for Tots drive. Pelco’s annual toy drive resulted in its employees donating 110,820 toys to needy children for the holidays, up nearly 2,000 from the previous year.

Since its start in the early 1990s with the donation of 808 toys, Pelco’s drive for the Marine Corps’ toy donation program averages more than 100,000 toys donated per year, with an all-time high of 149,408 in 2000. Toys for Tots National CEO Lt. Gen. Matthew Cooper told Pelco employees at their recent toy send-off and parade that Pelco’s donations during the past three years have been the largest made in the program’s 50-year history.

“Without our employees’ generosity, these children might have no
Christmas at all,” says David McDonald, president and CEO of Pelco. “This is a year-round tremendous effort by hundreds of dedicated Pelco people. This is our way of reaching out and making a small, positive difference to tens of thousands of needy children – all at once.”
