Pelco Honors the 9/11 Fallen in Annual Observance

CLOVIS, Calif.

Pelco employees and members of the general public commemorated the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy where thousands of lives were lost in New York City; Summerset, Pa.; and in the Washington, D.C., area.

“The most profound way to protect the future is to never forget the past. We must never forget the thousands of innocent men and women who went to work that day and never returned home,” said Pelco President and CEO David McDonald. “I strongly believe that every American now shares this responsibility. We must never forget.”

The ceremony was held at the California Memorial, a permanent monument, in memory of all those who fell that fateful day. During the event, which began at 8:30 a.m., the American flag was lowered to half-mast with a wreath procession with motor escort accompanied by a piped version of “Amazing Grace.” The event ended with a 21-gun salute and a fly-over with everyone singing the National Anthem.

Pelco honors the brave men and women who sacrificed so much in 2001 with an annual Sept. 11 observance. Throughout the year, the California Memorial and the California Memorial Museum are open to the public to honor those who were lost and those who survived the attacks on the East Coast.
