Pelco has reached out to World Vision and Mission 500 to help support community projects in both Brazil and Mexico. Mission 500 is a nonprofit initiative focused on helping children and communities in crisis around the world
“We are thrilled to be part of this important endeavor and look forward to working with World Vision and Mission 500 on other future projects,” says Alex Mathieson, Pelco regional manager for Latin America.
A Pelco contribution will support two projects in Latin America: one in Brazil in the Manaus region and one in Mexico in the Canon del Sainz area.
The Manaus project will include a hospital boat that goes deep into the Amazon jungle, providing medical care for villagers who live on the banks of the Amazon River. The Canon del Sainz project will improve health and environmental conditions for children by providing checkups, eye exams and dental care. It will also supply a meal program for schoolchildren and work with families to promote proper hygiene.
In the past, Pelco has donated products for Mission 500 raffles and has provided video production assistance to the organization.
“Community involvement is part of their corporate DNA and we are very excited that they are becoming more involved in our cause,” says George Fletcher, a co-founder of Mission 500.
