CLOVIS, Calif. — Friday marks the 14th anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, and with it marks the 14th annual memorial ceremony hosted by Pelco by Schneider Electric.

A permanent monument was built on Pelco by Schneider Electric’s Clovis Campus following the attacks back in 2001, one that has been recognized as the California Memorial for more than a decade.

On Friday, a silent ceremony consisted of a wreath procession, piped rendition of “Amazing Grace” and 21-gun salute.

“The Sept. 11 Memorial Ceremony is a proud Pelco tradition,” said Herve Fages, Pelco by Schneider Electric Senior Vice President. “We thank our local agencies who come together to recognize the many heroic sacrifices that were made on this day 14 years ago.  I speak not only for Pelco and the Central Valley, but for the entire nation when I say that the first responders and fallen heroes of Sept. 11 will always be in our hearts. Their actions, strength, courage, compassion and patriotism have inspired our nation, and indeed the entire world.”

Former FDNY firefighter and Sept. 11 survivor Andy Isolano was in attendance on Friday, delivering a heartfelt speech. “Our lives were forever changed by the devastating events of Sept. 11. It was with the determination of our service men and women and our first responders that we saw examples of courage and honor that have truly changed our lives.”

Clovis first responders, as well as the Combined Command Military Honor Guard, were also in attendance.
