Ed Merten, a 30-plus-year veteran of the security industry and a member of ASIS Int’l since 1978, has joined NAPCO Security as its new director of national accounts.

Joe Grillo, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY Global Technologies, has joined the board of directors for video security compression seller OzVision.
Grillo will serve in an advisory role while also continuing his work at ASSA ABLOY, the parent company of access control manufacturer HID Corp.

Arlington, Mass.-based security integrator American Alarm has promoted Ron Belling to sales manager. Belling was previously an integrated systems consultant at American Alarm’s Worcester office.
Security provider Sonitrol has made several management promotions from within.

Gary Friar is Sonitrol’s new CTO. He was previously vice president of product development for the company.
In addition, Roy DeZarte moves up to senior vice president of sales, and Ken Teifer has been named vice president of sales.
