Per Mar Security Services Makes Acquisition
Per Mar Security Services has acquired A-1 Alarm Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The acquisition will add more than 700 monitored accounts to Per Mar’s existing Cedar Rapids branch office.
Mike Weiland, general manager of Per Mar’s Cedar Rapids office, will oversee the transition of A-1’s customer base. A-1 was owned and operated by Jim Poorbaugh, who will retire from the company.
Founded in 1953, Per Mar Security Services is a family-owned business with about 3,000 security professionals operating from offices throughout the Midwest. The company designs and installs fire/life-safety, integrated access control and video surveillance solutions, and offers uniformed security officer services, business investigation services, security consulting and special event services.
Per Mar operates a UL-listed central monitoring station with more than 40,000 accounts and has 22 branch offices located throughout Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
