Police in Philadelphia are pushing the city to allow it to use video surveillance cameras throughout the city to enforce the law. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson is sending a team from his department to Chicago, where they will study the Windy City’s extensive CCTV system.

Philadelphia District Attorney Lynne Abraham and Pennsylvania State Rep. Jewell Williams (D) are also pushing for the CCTV cameras, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Chicago recently announced it was adding 250 cameras to the 2,000 already in its system and will link it with its 911 system.
