PIR Offers Built-in Light and 100-Pound Pet Immunity

Published: March 31, 2006

Aleph of Reno, Nev., announces the XP-43SL security-light motion detector that offers pet immunity in conjunction with visual safety in dark environments. In the dark, the safety light provides soft illumination to light up the sensor’s detection area.

According to Aleph, the PIR itself is capable of ignoring a 100-pound animal as part of its pet immunity feature.

Because the device uses the power supply in the alarm control panel, which includes a back-up battery, it provides emergency lighting functions during power failures.  A burglar’s movements also can be easily discerned as the security light switches on and off to illuminate their presence to video equipment or responding security personnel.
