PRO ONE PROMOTES BECK TO CHAIR, PRESIDENT AND CEO
CULVER CITY, Calif.
The board of directors of Protection One Inc., one of the leading residential security alarm providers in the United States, announces that Annette M. Beck, formerly president and COO of the company, has been named chairman of the board, president and CEO. Beck, a Wichita, Kan., native, has been responsible for the operations of Protection One’s North American alarm monitoring business since joining the company in July 1999.
“For more than a year, Annette has led her management team in changing the culture at Protection One, beginning to build a common monitoring and service platform nationwide, integrating back office functions following the company’s rapid growth and helping to build a stronger balance sheet,” says Doug Lake, Beck’s predecessor as chairman. Lake has been elected to the board of Western Resources, which owns approximately 85 percent of Pro One.
Prior to joining Protection One, Beck had a 17-year career with Western Resources and its electric utility, KGE, serving in numerous managerial and strategic leadership positions, including chairman of the board and president of KGE.
