DRAPER, Utah — ProdataKey (PDK), a manufacturer of Cloud-based access control products, recently launched a new line of “rugged” readers for use with 125kHz cards and fobs.
The company says that its new reader products are available in a choice of single- and mullion-style versions, and it offers versions with and without keypads. ProdataKey states that its newest products improve upon previous generations of its products by combining weatherproof and vandal-proof specifications all within the same model.
“We expect strong demand for our new rugged readers,” comments Brach Bengtzen, director of marketing, ProdataKey. “They’re attractive and streamlined, but you can swing a baseball bat at them and they’ll still work. For anywhere that readers may take a beating from the weather or mistreatment, these devices offer an excellent solution.”
According to the company, the new reader products are weatherproof IP68 rated to resist water, dust, dirt and other elements, and the fob and card readers are also IK10 impact-resistant rated.
These ratings PDK continues, enable professional integrators to install the readers at locations such as building exteriors, gates, commercial areas, industrial sites, construction yards and schools. ProdataKey notes the new readers can be used with its pdf.io access control system.
The company adds the new products incorporate sleek profiles, metal zinc casings, tempered-glass coverings that is wear- and scratch resistant.
Moreover, for added security, the backlit keypad readers can be used to implement two-factor authentication that requires users to provide credentials and a PIN code to gain access.
