AUSTIN, Texas — Protect America announces it has become the first professionally monitored security company to work with the August Smart Lock Pro.
Protect America’s professionally monitored connected home security system now works with the August Smart Lock Pro to provide customers with secure, keyless access to their home.
The Smart Lock Pro features simultaneous support for WiFi, HomeKit, Bluetooth and Z-WavePlus and also integrates with Amazon Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.
The lock also features DoorSense, an integrated sensor that tells users if their door is open or closed. While previous August Smart Locks could automatically lock after a set time, with DoorSense, the door lock can be set to instantly lock when the door is closed.
August Smart Lock Pro users can use the Protect America SMART app to lock or unlock their door from a smartphone or use their voice with the Protect America skill for Amazon Alexa to automatically lock or unlock the door when their Protect America security system is armed or disarmed.
Access control giant ASSA ABLOY acquired August Home at the end of 2017 to compliment the company’s Yale Lock brand. Executive Vice President Thanasis Molokotos said, “August Home strengthens our residential smart door strategy with complementary smart locks, expansion into video doorbells and comprehensive solutions for home delivery.”
