Alarm systems supplier Protection One and telecommunications provider BellSouth Corp. are expanding their partnership to jointly market security products and services. The companies are adding commercial systems to their already existing partnership to market residential systems.

BellSouth will offer security directors and business owners in its nine-state territory the chance to buy a comprehensive commercial security system designed, installed and serviced by BellSouth Security Systems from Protection One. The two companies have been running a similar marketing partnership for residential customers since March 2001 in the Southeastern U.S.

“It’s part of our commitment to exceed customer needs in today’s security-minded marketplace,” said David Scobey, president of BellSouth’s business service, in a statement.

Among the services the two will jointly provide for commercial customers are remote video services where Protection One’s monitoring center will monitor video images from a commercial property.
