WESTMINSTER, Colo. — PSA Security Network has moved its 2023 Convention and Grand Getaway from Maui to Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu in the wake of the ongoing wildfires that have claimed more than 100 lives and continue to ravage the tropical paradise.
In a letter to members and sponsors, PSA announced it was able to secure the same dates for the convention (Oct. 9-12) and Grand Getaway (Oct. 12-15) as previously planned in Maui and that the association planned to transfer all reservations to Turtle Bay and send updated confirmation numbers.
“Turtle Bay just went through an extensive renovation and the rooms are beautiful,” writes Candice Aragon, vice president of marketing and education for PSA Security Network, in the announcement to convention attendees and sponsors.
PSA plans to book comparable excursions in Oahu for attendees who had them planned in Maui and will allow registrants to cancel their reservations for a full refund until Sept. 1. The organization extended early-bird registration rates until Aug. 31.
Because the convention and Grand Getaway are moving from Maui to Oahu, all attendees must instead fly into Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). PSA will work with Grand Getaway attendees to update their flights, while convention attendees must contact their airlines to make that change.
“Thank you all for your support and patience during this time and your flexibility as we re-plan the event,” writes Aragon in her announcement. “We look forward to seeing you in Oahu.”
PSA will soon announce which organizations it will support in the wake of the Maui wildfires.
