PSA Security Network recently held its 2005 Convention at the Kaua’I Marriott Resort & Beach Club on Kalapaki Beach in Kaua’I, Hawaii. The focus of this year’s event was networking. Seventy-six owners, along with senior management from 52 member companies and 16 vendor firms, conducted meetings, educational sessions, and met for social activities between Oct. 21 and 25.

Several bylaw changes were approved during the stockholders’ meeting. Changes include the addition of a fifth voting region that should provide better representation as more members join PSA. The second major change will be elections for directors in the spring instead of fall and term limits.

During the President’s Award Dinner, a number of awards were handed out. This included the Paul Marcus Award, which was presented to Jim Taylor of White & Associates in recognition for outstanding service to PSA. Top Purchaser Awards were given to Selectron of Portland, Ore.; Henry Bros. Electronics; Pittsburgh’s Guardian Alarm; and Tech Systems Inc. of Duluth, Ga. Tech Systems also won the national Top Purchaser Award.
