PSA, NSCA to Combine Their Annual Conferences for 2004

The security industry’s largest cooperative and a trade
association for the commercial electronic systems industry
will combine their annual shows in 2004. The PSA Security
Network will have its security and life-safety pavilion
with the National Systems Contractors Association’s (NSCA)
event, creating the NSCA Systems Integration Expo(r).

Despite merging both events, the two organizations say they will remain as separate entities, but will take advantage of each other’s experience, professionalism and synergy.PSA will manage the security and life-safety product showcase and oversee the conference’s security and life-safety education tracks, while NSCA will focus on products, tracks and more related to integrated commercial systems.

PSA will run its own conference at the same time as NSCA’s, holding private functions including the PSA banquet, opening mixer and stockholders meeting at a separate location.

For PSA, the partnership enables the group to expand its exhibits and provide more space for classes and functions, says Bill Bozeman, president and CEO of PSA. “The new venue will allow PSA members to learn, network and ally themselves with electronic systems integrators, as well as reaffirm and strengthen existing relationships. This is a refreshing change and will open up a new world to PSA members.” NSCA Executive Director Chuck Wilson adds that the partnership further creates an event better suited to the advancing skill sets of both organizations’ memberships.
